Mala : Importanance of excretory elements

                                                                             Mala

Introduction :

They are the unwanted products created during the digestion of ingested food.
They are also called dhatu, as they keep a balance in body component for certain period of time and then expelled out.
Mala are three in number naming, purisha, mutra and sweda.
Purisha :

It is a solid waste material i.e. feces. It excretes out unwanted part of food, thereby reducing toxins ingested or created during digestion. Mutra
It is liquid waste. It function as kledvahan. Lets know first what the kled is. Unwanted material  in the liquid form with few toxic elements created during digestion of food and water too
Mutra does excretion of kled thereby preveting body elements from retaining unnecessary fluids.
Sweda

It is sweat. Giving a normal texture and retaining appropriate moisture to skin and hair is the action of it. It protects hair. Also, as we know it helps maintain normal body temperature.
Practical approach :

Ayurveda has given extreme importance to normal process of excreting the mala as these are the only pathways to throw the toxins and undesirable particles out of the body, failure to do so creating number of abnormal conditions enough to make one sick. Excretion of mala purifies body.

Abnormal food and lifestyle habits affect the process of purification of body.
